More a 2 1/2 than a three.. Not as good as the previous Harry Hole books (The Redbreast, Nemesis, Devil's Star) i found The Redeemer a bit of a struggle to get through.
The tale of a Croatian hitman who arrives in Oslo to assassinate an officer with the Salvation Army. Due to the weather the hit man is unable to make his flight out from the city so he is forced to stay overnight. Only then does he realise he's blundered and taken-out the wrong man and goes after his original target.
The basic premise for the book just didn't click with me shady foreign hitmen targeting Salvation Army officers, hmm but due to the previous books in the series being very enjoyable i will continue reading about Oslo's alcoholic finest.
